Carey B. Reilly

Carey Reilly has been instrumental in many of the firm's courtroom and appellate successes. Carey has had numerous courtroom victories in cases concerning medical malpractice, negligence and aviation.

Her strong academic background and legal scholarship lead the firm to victory in the landmark appellate case of Ely v. Murphy -- a case that changed Connecticut law, for the first time holding a person legally responsible for supplying liquor to a minor. She also argued and won a precedent-setting appellate decision resulting in the prohibition of gender discrimination in jury selection in Connecticut courts.

Recently, Carey won another impressive and important victory in the State's highest court. In a precedent-setting ruling, the court permitted a KK&B client infected with the AIDS virus to sue 13 years after receiving a contaminated blood transfusion, in spite of the state's restrictive Statute of Limitations.

Carey, a careful and tireless worker, pays particular attention to the smallest details of her case. Her established command of both the facts and the legal principals form the cornerstone for her numerous successes. Carey's ability to handle complex scientific and legal principles and her analytical skills are valuable assets to her clients and the firm.
