In addition to the Super Lawyers list, the Rising Stars list highlights attorneys early in their careers who are already making a notable mark in the field.

Which Koskoff Attorneys Received 2026 Super Lawyers Top List and Rising Stars Honors?

Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder is proud to announce that four of the firm’s attorneys have been included in the 2026 Connecticut Super Lawyers® and Rising Stars® lists, reflecting their professional achievement within the legal community. Attorney Josh Koskoff received recognition on the Connecticut Top 10 list and the Connecticut Top 50 list, with the exclusive honor of being ranked #1 overall in Connecticut in the Super Lawyers selection process. Earning recognition on the Connecticut Top 25 Women list, we proudly recognize our attorney, Alinor Sterling. Attorneys Luke Reynolds and Matthew Blumenthal were recognized on the 2026 Connecticut Rising Stars list.

These honors recognize attorneys whose work continues to make an impact both inside and outside the courtroom.

What is Super Lawyers®?

Super Lawyers recognizes outstanding attorneys through a selection process involving peer nominations, independent research, and peer evaluations for more than 30 years. The organization highlights attorneys across more than 70 practice areas and firms of all sizes.

The mission of Super Lawyers is to provide visibility to attorneys who exhibit excellence in the practice of law.

What Do Super Lawyers® and Rising Star® Recognitions Represent?

Super Lawyers and Rising Stars distinctions highlight attorneys who have built strong reputations within the legal space through their work, leadership, and dedication to clients.

For clients, colleagues, and referral partners, these recognitions can serve as a reflection of an attorney’s experience, advocacy, and standing within the profession.

Attorney Josh Koskoff Ranked #1 Overall in Connecticut State

Attorney Josh Koskoff received multiple distinctions through the 2026 Connecticut Super Lawyers selection process, including recognition on the Connecticut Top 10 list and the Connecticut Top 50 list. With his excellence in advocacy, Attorney Koskoff ranked #1 overall in Connecticut. Josh Koskoff represents the third generation of Koskoffs leading the Connecticut firm Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder. He was recognized as an “Innovator” on TIME Magazine’s list of The 100 Most Influential People of 2025 for his impactful work in gun litigation. Koskoff obtained two historic victories on behalf of families of victims of the Sandy Hook School shooting and currently represents families of victims from the Highland Park and Uvalde mass shootings. He believes strongly in the role of the law as a means to improve his clients’ lives and as an agent for change, and he views the law as only working when it works for all people, not just those in positions of power.

Attorney Alinor Sterling Recognized on Connecticut Top 25 Women List

Attorney Alinor Sterling has been selected to the 2026 Connecticut Top 25 Women List. Female attorneys in this category have ranked top of the list in the Super Lawyers selection process.

Attorney Sterling has built her career using the law as a tool to confront justice. Her work spans representing families in high-profile litigation against Remington Arms and Alex Jones, along with appellate work that has helped shape significant outcomes in complex litigation. She previously served as President of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and continues to hold leadership roles across several legal and advocacy organizations.

Attorneys Matthew Blumenthal and Luke Reynolds Selected to the Rising Stars® List

Attorneys Luke Reynolds and Matthew Blumenthal were selected to the 2026 Connecticut Rising Stars list. This marks Attorney Blumenthal’s fifth consecutive year being recognized since 2022 on the list, and Attorney Reynold’s first year receiving the honor.

Attorney Blumenthal is an experienced advocate focused on complex litigation and civil rights matters. His background at Yale Law School, his service in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, and his experience as a federal appellate clerk have shaped his legal career alongside his service as a Connecticut State Representative.

Attorney Reynolds has spent much of his early career in the medical negligence space, along with civil rights matters. His work includes a successful challenge to wrongful denial of ballot access affirmed by the Connecticut Supreme Court. He previously clerked for the Connecticut Supreme Court and continues an active pro bono practice.

Our attorneys recently returned from the AAJ Winter Convention, engaging with colleagues nationwide to exchange ideas and strengthen our shared commitment to the civil justice system. February also recognized Black History Month, where members of the firm joined our Bridgeport Public School students for a special event. At the same time, global moments of achievement and unity, like that of the spirit embodied in the Olympic Games, remind us of the value of dedication and collective progress.

At Koskoff, Bridgeport is far more than our address or office location. It is our foundation, where we established ourselves, grew alongside the community, and built our history with a deep sense of pride. That is why stories that celebrate Bridgeport’s landmarks and achievements matter deeply to us, especially when they reflect the values of commitment, perseverance, and community that guide our work.

While much of our work focuses on national legal issues, moments like the Winter Olympics highlight Bridgeport’s presence on the global stage. The Wonderland of Ice stands as a powerful example of that connection.

For generations, the Wonderland of Ice has been a source of local pride to Bridgeport life. What began as a local rink became a place where young athletes developed discipline, teamwork, and determination. This year many stories have given the rink recognition as a training ground for Olympic athletes. The attention highlights Bridgeport’s role in shaping the talent and offered an exciting community feeling in the city.

Among those with ties to Wonderland of Ice are Olympians Tage Thompson of the U.S. men’s hockey team, Aerin Frankel of the U.S. women’s hockey team, and speedskater Kristen Santos-Griswold. Chris Drury, who competed in prior Olympic Games, has also returned to the global stage as assistant general manager for the men’s hockey team. Their journeys reflect years of dedication that began here at home. Recent reporting by CT Insider and News 12 Connecticut has highlighted these connections, underscoring how deeply rooted the rink’s legacy is in both Bridgeport and Olympic competition.

The recent spotlight on Wonderland of Ice is more than a sports story. It is a Bridgeport story.

Like Wonderland, Koskoff was built here. Our firm grew within the city and has remained committed to serving its people. While our work takes place in the legal arena rather than on the ice, our histories reflect a shared belief that organizations grounded in their communities can create lasting impact through dedication and persistence.

Bridgeport’s story has always been shaped by people who believe in this city and continue to invest in it. Wonderland of Ice reflects that belief, showing how dedication at the local level can lead to recognition on the world stage. At Koskoff, we are proud to stand alongside organizations that help make Bridgeport what it is.

All of us at [nap_names id="FIRM-NAME-1"] mourn the tragic loss of life and serious injuries suffered by students at Brown University. We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the families of Ella Cook and Mukhammad Aziz Umuzokov. We deeply lament the sorrow which you have been forced to endure and we yearn for a time, when your pain is overtaken by a sense of peace.

We also greatly wish for the speedy and full recovery from the life-threatening trauma, suffered by Jacob Spears and the other unnamed victims. We hope that you and your families can experience meaningful resumptions of the lives that you lived prior to this horrific event.

As expressed by so many, we are personally and intensely outraged by these heinous crimes. One of my KK&B colleagues and I are Brown University alumni. We have spent countless student hours at the scene of the murders. In addition, [nap_names id="FIRM-NAME-1"] has provided and continues to provide legal representation for families that have been victimized by mass shootings. Our personal ties to and legal representation of victims of the Sandy Hook massacre are examples.

The alleged shooter has been identified and located. Correspondingly, there has been a sense of relief by many. However, this latest development does not erase the outrage that accompanies our deep sadness. The USA has been identified as the developed nation that suffers the overwhelmingly greatest number of mass shootings and overall gun violence. This phenomenon alone should precipitate national gun reform. The fact that it is easier to obtain guns in some states than it is for many citizens to vote makes this circumstance all the more reprehensible.

During my freshman year at Brown, political science professors touted the essential nature of incremental change in America. Any progress in reigning in gun violence has moved so incrementally that it could be described as stagnant. The development of common-sense gun reform is long overdue. Giving weight to only one portion of the Second Amendment should no longer stand as an excuse for inaction.

In addition to these highly publicized mass shootings, less publicized shootings occur every day, throughout the nation. The tremendous flow of guns within our country has had devastating consequences in our urban, suburban and rural communities. It should alarm every man and woman in America that guns are the leading cause of death for our youths.

Enough is enough. The time has come to hold all parties accountable that contribute to this carnage. The time to appropriately honor the legacies of all victims of gun violence is long overdue. The time to act is NOW.

With Deep Sadness,

PT

The NBA represents the interests of approximately 67,000 lawyers, judges, law professors, legal practitioners, and law students worldwide.

Attorney Daugherty shares his experience joining this milestone event:

Because Black lawyers were excluded from membership in the American Bar Association (“ABA”) and most local majority bar associations across the country, 12 Black lawyers met in Des Moines, Iowa, on August 1, 1925, to spearhead the establishment of a national network of Black lawyers committed to the pursuit of equal justice under law. They founded the National Bar Association (NBA). Last week, I had the honor of celebrating the National Bar Association’s 100th Annual Convention in Chicago, Illinois.

During my time at the convention, I found all the events educational and inspiring, but the Presidential Showcases were exceptional. Listening to Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s remarks about her historical swearing-in ceremony reminded me of something I heard from another trailblazer named Barack Obama.

President Obama once said that Martin Luther King, Jr.’s famous quote that “the arc of the moral universe is long but bends towards justice” was accurate but noted that the arc doesn’t bend on its own, but that it bends because good people help it bend that way. Justice Jackson’s remarks reminded me of all the good people that pushed the arc of the moral universe towards justice and how I, too, have a responsibility to push that arc towards justice.

Most people will drive, as AAA estimates that nearly 40 million people will travel at least 50 miles to their weekend destination. Chances are that freeways will be clogged with weekend vacation traffic on Friday and Monday.

If you are one of the early birds will take off on Thursday to avoid Friday’s traffic, congratulations to you. However, threats still abound throughout the weekend. Memorial Day weekend is largely the most dangerous holiday driving period; likely second to only New Year’s Eve. Besides distracted drivers and drowsy drivers, accidents are also attributable to drunk driving during this period.

Even with these hazards, there are things that drivers can do to stay safe. This post will highlight them.

Wear your seatbelt – Connecticut law requires all occupants in a car to wear their seatbelts. But so many people don’t do so, even when it comes to “short” grocery store trips. Nevertheless wearing a seatbelt increases your chances of surviving a serious accident.

Put down the cell phone – The directional apps offered these days make it tempting to use cell phones while driving. However, if you’re paying attention to the map, you’re not likely paying attention to the road.

Resist the urge to drive aggressively – Getting stuck in traffic may raise your ire, but this is the time to take it in stride. Tailgating and cutting people off lead to crashes and road rage.

If you are injured in an accident during the holiday weekend, an experienced personal injury attorney can advise you.

While politicians have shown support to the company behind Groove, they have refused to take legislative action and encouraged the company to work with wireless data providers instead. The inventor says that Sprint has been testing Groove, and could start selling the device sometime next year.
