Connecticut Chiropractic Malpractice Lawyers

Chiropractors manipulate (adjust) the spine and treat patients for muscle and spine-related complaints. The attorneys at Koskoff Koskoff & Bieder, PC, represent people who have suffered life-altering injuries, like paralysis, strokes, nerve damage, spinal cord injuries and loss of mobility, because of a chiropractic doctor's mistakes. We also represent the survivors of those who died a wrongful death because of the negligence of a chiropractor.

Common Forms of Chiropractic Malpractice

Because of the nature of chiropractic treatment, it is not surprising that injuries to the back, neck or spine are the most common types of chiropractic malpractice. Failure to properly diagnose health conditions and failure to refer patients to appropriate medical specialists are among the next most common forms of medical negligence by chiropractors. Sexual misconduct ranks among the top 10 reasons for chiropractic malpractice claims, according to Today's Chiropractor.

Chiropractic Malpractice and Strokes

Research has long shown an association between chiropractic manipulation of the neck and stroke. Neck manipulations can result in the dissection of the vertebral or the carotid artery, which, in turn, can cause a stroke.

In some instances, the first indications of a stroke may occur before the patient leaves the chiropractor's office. In other cases, the stroke may occur days or weeks after the manipulation.

If you or a family member were injured by a chiropractor or suffered a stroke within a month of a chiropractic adjustment, please contact our law firm to discuss your legal rights and options.

From offices in Bridgeport, Stamford, Danbury and New Haven, Connecticut, our medical malpractice lawyers represent people injured by chiropractors throughout the state.
