Avastin
Switzerland-based pharmaceutical giant, Roche, was dealt a major blow recently when the U. S. Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommended revoking approval of its drug, Avastin. Avastin is the world’s best-selling cancer drug, with sales of about $6 Billion in 2009, and is prescribed to approximately 17,500 women with breast cancer per year.
