Josh Koskoff Named to Board of Connecticut Legal Services

BRIDGEPORT — Joshua D. Koskoff, a partner at the law firm of Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder, has been nominated to the board of directors of Connecticut Legal Services, Inc.

“We seek a broad representation from both the community and bar, and recruit attorneys to our board who feel passionately that everyone deserves legal representation whether or not they can pay,” said Steven Eppler-Epstein, executive director of Connecticut Legal Services. “In nominating Josh to the board we considered both his work and his support of our mission. We look forward to having him join us – he is energetic and a decent, caring person.”

Josh Koskoff is the third generation in the law firm founded by his grandfather, Theodore L. Koskoff in 1936. “I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for the work CLS is doing,” said Koskoff, “and I look forward to working with them to help improve the lives of Connecticut’s low-income population.”

Connecticut Legal Services (CLS) is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to representing, advising, and educating low-income individuals and families and helping them secure protection, privileges, benefits, rights and opportunities in matters relating principally to civil law. CLS provides representation and counseling to thousands of people each year, serving all of Connecticut except the greater Hartford and New Haven areas.

Board members of CLS are responsible for ensuring its resources are targeted appropriately and distributed fairly around the state. They oversee the finances and management of the organization and help enormously with fundraising.

Koskoff’s areas of expertise include medical malpractice and personal injury. In 2004, the Connecticut Law Tribune named Josh a “new leader of the law” for his achievements. A resident of Westport, CT, Josh is a member of the Bridgeport, Connecticut and American Bar Associations, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association of Justice.
