BRIDGEPORT MAYOR FINCH PROCLAIMS: “DEC. 13 KOSKOFF, KOSKOFF & BIEDER DAY”

Finch To Sign Proclamation During Special Ceremony

BRIDGEPORT - In recognition of its many decades of staunch support for the City of Bridgeport, Mayor Bill Finch has announced he will honor a local law firm.

Mayor Finch will issue a proclamation declaring December 13, 2011 as "Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder Day" In the City of Bridgeport.

"Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder is a shining example of what is right in Bridgeport," Mayor Finch said. "This is a firm whose office has been a fixture in our downtown for decades. It employs Bridgeport residents. Its attorneys and staff donate generously to our critical non-profit organizations and support myriad city events, from Bluefish games to the Schoolboy Classic. For many years, Koskoff lawyers have represented our Bridgeport Guardians. Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder is a true leader in our community and it's my pleasure to recognize them on behalf of the City."

The firm, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary, was founded in 1936 by Theodore I. Koskoff. It has grown to include 14 partners among the 20 attorneys in multiple offices throughout Connecticut, and has earned a national reputation for achieving justice for people who have suffered from medical malpractice and catastrophic injury.

Over the years, Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder has supported Bridgeport-based non-profits including

Bridgeport Rescue Mission, Family Re-Entry, the Beardsley Zoo, Dunbar Elementary School, the Bridgeport Fire Department and Bridgeport Police Department, Family Services Woodfield, the NAACP, St. Vincent's Hospital, and many others.

"We're thrilled and humbled by this honor. It's been a privilege to call Bridgeport home for all these years, to share the journey as our city reinvents itself," said Michael Koskoff, principal of Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder. ""But there is still much work to be done and vital programs that need support so that all of Bridgeport can benefit. We have always acted on the belief that we must give back to the local community, and we will continue to do so in future."

The announcement will be made at a special celebratory event on Tuesday, December 13 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mayor's office, 999 Broad Street, Bridgeport, CT.

In part, the proclamation reads: For inspired dedication in representing those in our society whose rights have been violated or those who have been injured through negligence.

Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder has offices in Bridgeport, Danbury, New Haven and Stamford. The nationally known law firm has achieved record-breaking verdicts for people who have suffered serious personal injuries and economic harm from medical malpractice, violation of their civil rights, dangerous products, negligence, drunk drivers, corporate and governmental abuse, and commercial misconduct. www.koskoff.com.
